What we do:

Every company has data.  We help companies get easier access to their data to help their business processes.  The tools we use are data warehousing and business intelligence. These terms are often misused or poorly understood, so first a layman’s definition.

Data Warehousing basically helps companies bring all their disparate data systems into one organized place. This can mean bringing together different types of data systems or it can mean copies of the same data system from divisions around the world.

Business Intelligence is a set of processes and software to help companies get that data out in a form that is usable to the business. The combination of data warehousing and business intelligence provides faster, more meaningful reporting and analysis for the business.

The author and owner of Cognitive Information, has designed and developed business solutions with the IBM Cognos and Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence platforms since 1999.
